This summer I read Wild by Cheryl Strayed and was introduced to McArthur-Burney Falls State Park in northeastern California. So I suppose it was that book that pointed us in the direction of this park, which is on the Pacific Crest Trail, east of Mt. Shasta. A little more remote and yet still only really two days from Vancouver, this is a part of California that Jeff and I had never seen before and that we would go back to in an instant.
